Billy's Nightmare is a roguelike game where you use abilities based on child logic to help Billy fight his nightmare.
Poison enemies with a pair of Stinky Socks, set them on fire with your Chili Breath or make them step on some painful Pego Bricks!

Troubleshooting
- The game gives you an error message when starting. Download this DirectX.
- The game won't start at all. Extract the file and open the .exe inside the folder.
How to play multiplayer?
- Make sure you have the same game version.
- If the host has a router, he has to set up port forwarding so the client can connect to his ip.
- If you don't know how to set up port forwarding or don't wan't to mess with your router, you can always use a software like Hamachi to emulate a local area network.

This game was so much fun! I loved everything about this game. Loved exploring the level, love the different items you could use, and loved the art style. Can't wait for the full release of the game! Already have the game wish listed! Great Job!

Thanks! After you beat one of the bosses, the demo is over. The full release on Steam has 3 levels and then a final boss.

I had an absolute blast playing this. Great pixel art, great music, ridiculously entertaining abilities and you can even pet the dog. Thoroughly impressed.
Shame setting up the multiplayer was such a hassle. My brother and I tried to play on Co-Op but it never worked out. That Hamachi stuff is too complicated for people who just want to play with their friends.
pls make this free on full release!

I am having issues with my ps4 controller, it just dosen't work with this game, any help?
Yeah, we're having some problems to get the game to work with a ps4 controllers. Only works with xbox controllers at the moment.

Really cool game! But can you make an option to zoom the camera in? Bacause I don't see any use for the black edges of the screen. And make an option to disable blood cause it's kinda hard to see the enemies and their bullets when the floor is colored with blood and bookshelves' remains

NEED HELP WANT TO PLAY BUT GLITCH
Are you trying to play on a Mac? This game only works on Windows
what are the minimum specs? My gaming laptop's kinda outdated and I don't know if I can run it. Also, when i try to download it, my browser crashes. It might be just a hardware, or browser issue, but I dont know if anyone experiences the same thing. Thanks!
Edit: It works! The browser was the problem. Also it runs well.
Me and my friend were playing co-op for 2 hours straight and lemme tell you this game is amazing. I only had one problem though and that is that I think you should make it so that in online co-op you have your own camera like you do in solo because when me and my friend would try and go opposite ways we would always get stuck and most likely end up dieing. I think this would be a great change and it would 100% make me and my friend want to play this demo even more and the real game even more.

I absolutely love it, but it gets boring after you've gotten past 2 schools a bunch of times, can you please do something like every 2 "floors" there are different themes instead of always school and every other level there's a boss. And also some system so we don't lose all of our progress if we download a newer version. But other than that, I recommend it to anyone who isn't a 5 year old boy named Billy. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for playing! At the end of floor 2 you get to fight a randomly chosen boss of the three that we have. We are working on some more levels, but they will be for the full release and not in this free version. You won't lose your progress. It's saved to text files and then loaded into the game.
Will we have to update manually or will it be updated by itself?
Version 0.1.1 is the latest update. I don't know if/when we will upload a new version, but in that case you will have to download it manually. But like I said, your progress will be saved.

I have problem with online! Me and my friend having problems with the connection. We have Hamatich but it still does not work. We both accepted the firewall the first time. How do you connect step to step, maybe we are doing something wrong there
Hmm that's weird. This is the steps I followed to play with my friend:
1. Download Hamachi.
2. Create a network in Hamachi and send the password to your friend so he can join you there.
3. Host a game in Billy's Nightmare, using port 5000.
4. Your friend then has to right click your name in Hamachi and copy your IPv4 address.
5. Then he can join you in Billy's Nightmare, using port 5000 and pasting the IP he copied from you.
6. If nothing happens, both of you can minimize the game and see if the firewall is asking for permission.

hey thanks for asking me to check the game out, there's only one thing that happened to me 3 times, i have a second monitor that my mouse cursor clicked on and minimized the game it self on my primary monitor, which got me nearly killed.. i saw there is a windows mouse lock in the options.. i must have had it set to off, but over all the game seems to be fun to play
The first thing I have to say is that it feels good, it looks good and it is good. It's easy to understand, the story makes sense. And I love the theme of it. But once you got two abilities you`re satisfyed with, you cant get any stronger. It does`t have any relics, upgrades, armor or anything of that exept abilities. The game is also way easier than most roguelikes. So if you keep it that way, the game will not get a lot of playtime even though you add two extra levels.
Here is my suggestion:
Make all abilities equally good and implement tiers for them. So a tier 3 balloon will be just as good as a tier 3 basketball. Then you can make enemies be able to drop them once they die. Higher tier items=lower drop rates. I think this would make the game even more addictive than it already is, but thats just me though.
Selling abilities would also be cool.
